Union Pacific Train Depot | Manhattan, KS
Historic Preservation Consulting and Construction Administration done by Timber & Stone. Drawings done while working under Bruce McMillan AIA Architects P.A. (Architect of Record).
Michael Mecseri was a key member of the Manhattan Riley County Preservation Alliance during the fundraising phase which made this project possible. Without the initiative of this group, it is unlikely the project would have happened. The Depot project was recognized in 2002 and 2006 with Awards of Excellence in Historic Preservation from the Manhattan/Riley County Preservation Alliance, the 2006 Honor Award in Historic Preservation from AIA Kansas, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and an Award of Excellence from the Kansas Preservation Alliance in 2006. It continues to be a staple venue for events in the area and an iconic symbol of Manhattan's history and commitment to architecture and history.
